Blogger in the classroom

Blogger has endless possibilities for uses in the classroom.  Teachers could create post for parents or students or both. Students assignments could be posted. Discussions could be started. With Picture and video, and presentation capabilities, students who miss class don't have to miss out. I could also share my blog with all of my presentations with other art teachers(we often share materials). I like features about blogger  better than my school district web page. I like how students can comment on anything I post, I also like how I can put video and presentations up. I have been fiddling with the idea of the virtual art opening since the advanced educational computing class, however, I have not found a program that will do it the way I would like it (that our school supports). On my school district web page, the blog section is text only. I can post pictures on the sight, but students would not be able to look at the picture as the write about it.  I like blogger because I could create a new post for each artwork and students could be required to make X number of comments about the artworks, including their own artist statement. I don't know how this would work for larger classes. I would have to set it up to show more than seven posts.
